Will RSS Replace Email?

RSS a big buzz word right now, this question has been popping up all over place.

Will RSS ever replace email?

In short, answer no.

RSS will never totally replace email because they each do totally different things.

RSS was designed a totally different purpose than email, technologically speaking, would be impossible RSS do everything email can.

Consider this analogy: RSS Email are like TV telephone.

Email like telephone: You can email or call anyone based their phone number or email address, they can call you or email you back. Consumers like email telephone because two-way communication. But with two-way communication comes possiblity having annoying telemarketers spammers along with it. And boy do they come!

One not better than other because they both serve two totally different purposes.

In my opinion, RSS better reaching a large list subscribers because 100% spam proof puts control into hands consumer.

Why fight spam filters when you can avoid them altogether?

Internet marketers that think they are "more control" by using email instead RSS are somewhat disillusioned. Consumers can unsubscribe your email list any time they want to. If they try unsubscribe from your list but can't, then you are spamming them.

If you truly offer valuable content, consumers will look forward getting your messages whether they come by email or RSS.

Considering fact that a good number emails are getting blocked by spam filters, you have a better chance reaching more your subscribers via RSS.

With that said, email will always be necessary an individual basis so you can have two-way communication.
