What Consumers Need To Know About RSS Feeds

Feeds are simple, really. What's even more exciting that they are extremely easy use, even better, they are completely safe from Viruses, being Spammed or receiving Junk Mail. How? Basically because there no transfer information your computer.

Unlike e-mail, which a transfer information (data), feeds are read from files stored someone's server out cyberspace. There no transfer data your hard drive at all.

Even better than e-mail, you control what information you read.

Here's an example how you would find, add use a feed.

Let's say you are browsing web you come across a site you are interested in, let's say a fashion site. Most sites are still using mailing lists, but will be using feeds very near future. If you sign up their mailing list example, because you may want know when they have a sale, you will receive information via e-mail. But there could be a few problems with this. First viruses, spyware, adware, etc. are transferred via e-mail, many times without knowledge person who sent it. Second, you may want unsubscribe from mailing list but company may have made difficult do that. Third, you may want actually read their e-mail but gets recognized Spam or Junk Mail by your mail program you may never see it, or you may delete because you are not sure if you should open it. Although many companies have used mailing lists successfully, they are now finding frustrating because Spam Junk Mail filters, unwanted Viruses, Spyware, Adware attachments, etc. Additionally fewer places you leave you e-mail address, better.

If same fashion site has a feed however, you can use read their information any time you want, you can delete feed if you find that it's not want you want.

The first thing you will do use a reader. We have a free reader that easy set up, easy use. Once you have reader set up you simply add feed URL's your reader.

When you open your reader top menu will have some options you. With our free reader a small window opens when you start up program. From that small window you can add a feed. The top menu well will allow you add a feed under "File", "New" option.

If sites are offering feeds they should give you URL feed. For example our "OneFeed" feed is:

http://1feed.com/onlyfeed.xml

You would simply copy above URL, paste into "New Feed" window name it. It automatically added updated. You can add categories such sports, news, weather, fashion, home decor, whatever you want. You can start add feeds different categories. The reader will update feeds each time you start program so that you have latest updated information. You can even choose just update certain feeds instead all them at once.

When you are viewing feed you are viewing a file, a RSS or XML file, a someone's server. No information transferred your computer. The file contains information (items). Each item will contain a title, a short description a link. A feed may contain one item or many items. For example one item may be titled "Lingerie Sale", description ,may read "40% off our winter stock brand name lingerie", link may point you their home page or a sales page.

Another item may be an article spring fashion, yet another item may be a link a top designer, etc.

You decide whether you view one item, some items or no items!

The best part that feeds are updated by person or company their server. When you view feed tomorrow, may contain different items or news more sales, etc. You stay updated you can receive information posted.

The reader we use tells you if there are feeds a web site when you visit it. You can then choose add any or all feeds if you wish your reader.

You control feeds reader. You can delete any feeds at any time. Unlike Spam or Junk Mail they never return because you have add them your reader yourself.

This an example way I may use feeds near future. If I need go shopping I will check my reader feeds from my local grocery store sales specials, other retailers my community. If I want know about registration minor baseball my kids or what winter programs my local continuing education organization offering I can check feed those community organizations. If I want book a trip I can check best online deals from feeds travle companies I use. I will save time money by using my reader find best prices products services I want need, my community, from anywhere around world.

The best part that I control what feeds I view. I can delete any feeds that I want at any time. This puts me, you control!

Once you start using feeds gather information, whether from online only sources, or from business organizations your community that will be using feeds, you will not want get your information any other way!
