Learn how Create a RSS Feed

Creating an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feed really quite a simple process. RSS a lightweight XML design really easy setup implement. It's a great way pass important updates, send out your articles or news, or send out your favorite website links!

RSS feeds can be setup a very short time, literally a few minutes! Simply put, an RSS feed basically a text file with a couple HTML looking tags. There an area with information about feed, then individual blocks code each article or piece content being syndicated. It may sound bad now, but I assure you it's very simple setup I'll give you a full working example by end article!

The first thing you need do create a file you want call your RSS feed. It can be anything, name isn't important. For article I will call "cool_feed.xml"

As I've mentioned several times before, it's similar HTML has an open closing block after each parameter. But you also may have noticed there isn't a closing block CHANNEL. That because sort equivalent "BODY" block HTML, will do it's close near very end. This ITEM block your first article, every time you want add an update you just create another ITEM block similar this one. It simply has an article title, link where article your website, a description field, which normally 1-3 sentences long.
