Is RSS Here Stay or Gone Tomorrow?

RSS totally hot. We have seen everywhere, from John-Doe blogsites major news websites. If you haven't heard RSS before, that's okay, because I hadn't either until a couple months ago!

RSS stands Really Simple Syndication, or whatever you want stand for. (I have seen also stand RDF Site Summary, but really doesn't matter.) What's important what does.

Here's how RSS works:

Every site has constantly changing content has one big problem: How do you notify your visitors when you've posted new content without them having scour your entire site every 30 mins? You could send them an email, but has several drawbacks.

First, you might not get your messages through spam filters. Filters are snatching more more messages, just keep up anymore you have run all your content through rating systems just find likelyhood getting blocked. What a pain neck!

Second, people are so hesitant give out their closely guarded email address. I know I guard my email address with my life. How can your visitors trust you if they just clicked your site? You could be an underground spam operation all they care.

This where RSS awesome!

Instead sending an email, you can have your website generate what's called an RSS Feed. An RSS Feed nothing more than a webpage with a bunch summaries new content it. Next time you see little orange icon with XML or RSS, click you'll see what I mean. The summaries are formatted such a way an RSS Reader can sort them out display them neatly.

There are tons free RSS Readers now, so if you don't have one, do a simple Google search RSS Reader you should have no trouble finding one.

All visitor has do copy little orange RSS icon link paste into their RSS Reader program. The RSS program will periodically download RSS webpage will display new headlines much like your email program will display your subject lines. If you like one headlines, you can click will display a short description a link entire article. If you want read more, click link will display actual full article website.

Here's why this killer:

You can now be notified new content or headlines posted all your favorite websites without having do very much work! Imagine putting twenty RSS Feeds into your reader having download all content a matter seconds instead having surf each site individually!

If you ask me, RSS here stay. All major sites support like CNN, ESPN, Yahoo Google, so that surely a good sign! So go fire up Google get yourself an RSS Reader. You will be glad you did...I sure was!
